war in kryta spawns - Guild Wars Forums

when do the spawns start to show up? right after you have done eotn or proph, or do you gotta take the quest or something first?

i'd love to know if i can complete eotn and/or proph without having to deal with the spawns right after that, as i love to play normal proph, tbh

if not sure, please let me know when you do that with a char, like completing eotn and then see if they spawn already

ps. with "spawns" i mean the enemies

I can't personally confirm it but I have no reason to doubt it.

the only spawns I had after completing either and before taking any WiK quests or anything were only the roadblocks and the shining blade allies, I did not check every area though

yeah if you complete EITHER prophecies or eye you will get the spawns--which is bad for my 2ndary accounts which I never bought eye on (only paid $5 for the trilogy couldnt fathom paying $30 to add eye to them)....so there is no way to get rid of the spawns on those accounts!

Unlike woc which you have to take a quest to start.

But unlike WoC, WiK is really easy and somewhat fun to do. Plus the quest rewards add to your HoM. Although the rewards hero is just as useless as WoC NM.

but if you dont have eye you cant get the quests! (you have to do the ebon vanguard stuff and see the gwen/thacky dialogs) and you have no access to the keep in la either, so it just becomes annoying that you cant ever get rid of the spawns then.

If you finish prophecies--wik spawns will happen
If you finish eye --wik spawns will happen.

I have characters who have only finished prophecies and have the spawns, I have characters who have only finished eye and have the spawns.

the only way to get rid of them is to finish wik which requires BOTH eye and prophecies--so if you only have prophecies you will NEVER be able to get rid of them, if you have both, you just need to finish that last quest and have no bounties in your quest log.

I just checked on my ranger who completed Eye of the North recently. Yes you definitely get spawns right after completing,e.g. the Paragon Peacekeeper boss in the southwest of Northkryta Province was there, however there are no white mantle groups there yet.

Edit: checked some other locations too, it is definitely only peacekeeper groups that spawn, no white mantle before you do something.

yeah, you dont seem to get all of the spawns....my (non-eye) ele finished prophecies and some of the spawns happen others do not, but there are wik spawns and sometimes even falcon appears too.

I'm not sure just what triggers WiK I know I had completed Prophs for some time, (weeks) before accidently triggering WiK, I believe this was because I was attempting to VQ Kryta and I triggered it by entering Tears of the Fallen.

I remember this very clearly because I was simply furious to have this virus on my computer and no apparent way to clean my machine. Anyhow your best advised to not complete Prophs or EoTN on any toon you want to not have to deal with WiK; that said its not all that hard to complete NM; The only mission that's really challenging in NM is The Battle for LA; and once its done its done.

i have both, but find storylines of wik and woc hard, i cant do them on my own, and getting help is real hard cuz of GW2's popularity (people left GW even when they were busy helping me, to play GW2)

heck, i need help almost completing eotn.... and some help in elona

so yea, no completing eotn or proph on chars who havent done wik yet
dont wanna sit and wait for help again.... with wik, the overaggro hell (and woc even worse, but can complete cantha without getting woc spawns)

You might want to consider having a deeper look into your playstyle if you have problems with EotN - there are probably just small tweaks necessary to smooth everything up.

Hi Ayuhmii,
No dis intended is saying the WiK content was easy; easy in GW is a very relative term; content that was nearly impossible for me at the end of my first year, is pretty routine now. Part of that is improved builds, and improved play; part of that is game economy. At the end of my first year I had maybe 50 plat; Which limits ones choices for Runes, Insignia's and Weapons. All of which can powerfully add to your effectiveness. <br>

Back to your original Question. I suggest you avoid activating WiK on 2ndary toons till your comfortable with the content. Krydiok's suggestion you might want to polish your tactics might not be without merit. Even after two years I'm still polishing that apple; and I think it's far to say with a few exceptions we all are, after all that's the nature of the game. Happy Hunting. BB.
